Kim & Jason: Day After!

This weekend we had the pleasure of photographing Kim and Jason for their Day After shoot.
They are such a cool couple! They both are so nice and they were willing to try anything which we love. The braver, the better. We had a lot of fun goofing off with them while getting some awesome images. I was beyond excited to come home and put up a slideshow! I think you can tell just by looking at the photographs exactly how much Kim and Jason love each other. I'm also glad that Day After shoots are gaining in popularity in the wedding world, and couldn't wait to actually photograph one.

By the way if you're wondering what's a Day After shoot. It's a great way for bride and groom's to get some beautiful and casual photographs after their wedding day. Often times couples are so pressed for time on the actual wedding day that they don't get many photographs of just the two of them alone. That is why Josh and I always try to recommend to couples to either see each other before the actual ceremony, but we know so many couples want to keep the tradition of seeing each other right at the ceremony. They Day After shoot is just another great alternative.
I highly recommend to our couples that if there just isn't enough time on the actual wedding day, book us for a Day After shoot.

Anyway, on to the photographs and the slideshow!

I always have to start off with a photograph of the bride:

While we were waiting for sunset, all four of us decided to grab a drink at the local Boulder City brew pub where all of these photographs were taken.

They had some great drinks...

Afterwards Kim and Jason were a little bit looser in front of the camera :)

Wishing We Were In Hawaii

The wedding season quite hasn't started in the photography world. We have some great weddings lined up starting March though! So stay tuned for those. Until then I'll be posting photos from some shoots we have lined up and also some random photos that will let you get to know us a little better.

Josh and I just got married in September of 07, and for our honeymoon we stayed two weeks in lovely Hawaii, specifically the island of Kauai to be exact. It was the best two weeks of our lives. We did some really cool things, that I'll have to blog about including swimming with sharks!

Here are a couple of shots that I love and miss:

The pineapples were awesome! We went to a farmer's market and picked up a bunch of fresh produce. I recommend if you go to Hawaii to purchase all of your fruits from local farmers markets.

There's this road in Kauai that's completely covered by foliage for about a mile. I forget what it's called but it is amazing.

And I will leave you with this image of the sea turtle that Josh and I found while we were snorkeling. He was a quick little thing too.

Cool Website of The Week

Vera Wang, Reem Acra, Anne Barge, Lazaro, all names that take on a lot more meaning when you get engaged. When you're surfing through The Knot you're bombarded by images of beautiful designer dresses. Your heart flutters while looking at all the silk satin, the beautiful, handmade lace, and the gorgeous beading, but after you check out the price tags your heart drops! What's a modern girl to do?

This is where our cool website of the week comes in. Bride Power is a company based out of Newton, MA. They specialize in selling designer wedding gown samples at a fraction of the cost. You can purchase the gown directly online and they will ship it out to you in a couple of weeks. They have special gowns at a very discounted price under Mega Markdowns that are just unbelievable.
Anne Barge $499.00

Happy Valentines Day!!!

We've been working up a storm at MSD Photo. We're coming out with some fabulous new features and extras for our business. One of them is our new slideshows! We are now able to post slideshows online on our blog! This is very exciting for us as well as for our clients. You can now direct your friends and family to see your slideshow. We are going to have them up within a day or two of your wedding/engagement session.

For now I'm posting our first slideshow. We shot Gen-no & Charles a couple of weeks ago now, but I think they're still going to get a kick out of this. I hope you like it! Just click on the photo to play the show.
