Thankful...

It's 10:11 PM, and I've been shooting since 7:45AM this morning. I'm extremely tired, and every bone and muscle in my body aches from dragging camera equipment around for ten hours, yet all I feel is this glow of gratefulness. I'm grateful that I have Josh, my business partner and my soulmate, grateful that I meet wonderful people every day like Gen-no and Charles, and most of all I'm grateful that God has blessed me with so many good things. I think I will go kiss Josh good night and post some amazing images from today's wedding tomorrow.

Stephanie and Justin Are Going To The Chapel...Part 2

I am so excited to present to you guys my favorite all time slideshow ever (okay I say that every time!), but seriously, Stephanie and Justin's photos came out amazing if I do say so myself.

I mean check out this photo Josh got. Look closely at her bracelet.

All right, I won't keep you guys in suspense anymore!

Susie and Al are going to the chapel

Yesterday I had the opportunity to finally meet Susie and Al. They are from Miami, FL.  and they came in town to get of all things "Hitched". We met at the Venetian Hotel and went out on a mad dash to stay ahead of the light and get as many photos as we could. I do have to say that we all had a blast, even with the running in 3 inch stilettos (go Susie!). We did manage to get some awesome photos. They made it, of course, too easy for me to get the photos that I wanted. Susie and Al you guys are such a great couple, so in love, and not bad looking for 25 years of age either..haha... Anyway, these are just a few of the photos that I was able to get edited last night, I hope you guys enjoy them!

Josh

The day started a little rough but got better fast.

We did a little window shopping...

We got to know each other and things began to loosen up

A little bit of PDA never hurts...

Then I found out why Susie fell in love with Al, A.K.A. Mr. Cool...

They were sweet and spicy all at the same time...

Gotta love a girl that knows how to spend her honey's money...... Ouch! How much did that bet cost again?

Time to relax a little...

And catch the sunset...

Stay tuned to see a full slideshow!

Learning Is Good For You!

Last week Josh and I attended the WPPI 2008 held at the Paris. The WPPI is the best convention for wedding photographer and portrait photographers. Josh and I had such a blast even though my pockets are much lighter. We got to hear some great speakers, Josh got to ogle all the new Nikon lenses and even a D3 (currently the holy grail of Nikon Cameras). Best of all I got to look and touch all of the wedding album companies. I got to pick out two new companies that have beautiful, quality products, that I'm sure all our brides will love.

Of course we took pictures!

Josh and I have been so pee in your pants excited for this convention. I think you can tell by the twinkle in my eyes:

Josh was really excited about his new lens he bought...until he went to pay:

I also bought some Kubota actions (they make photos pop) and since I spent the money on it I thought I would get me some Kubota Hero lovin':

My final purchase was a Shootsac from my photography idol Jessica Claire! This was the equivalent of meeting Elvis for me. I was soooo shy that Josh pushed me up to her and forced me to talk to her. I swear I probably made no sense whatsoever. She ended up being sooo sweet, and I'm beyond excited to use my seriously fashionable yet functional camera bag this Saturday.

Of course Josh forced me to ask for a photograph:

After our retail therapy we checked out the album companies. Here are two products we will be offering fairly soon:

This is a flush mount album with a little bit thinner pages than the current company that we use. The color on it was amazing and I love the cover:

Also our album company had some kick ass cover like this black tooled leather:

After three full days of photography fun, fun, fun, we were exhausted but very happy. It was really nice just to kick back and relax a little with my dogs, Sony (my chihuahua), and Sheezy (my pug):

Nancy & Kevin Got Married: Part II

I love to do slideshows, but somehow it's so hard to narrow the photos down to a manageable size. This was the case with Nancy & Kevin's wedding. I think this is one of my favorite slideshows I've done so far. I hope everybody likes it!

Stephanie and Justin Are Going To The Chapel...

This week has just been a total whirlwind for Josh and me. Not only did we photograph a wedding on Saturday, but we have redone our office (we finally converted to mac!), we attended the WPPI show (which is the national photography geek convention in which I scoped out the best of the best for our brides!), but we had a fabulous time with Stephanie and Justin during their engagement session.

Stephanie and Justin are getting married pretty soon, and Josh and I are ecstatic to be photographing them. They are just two very funny and dynamic people who are up for anything. I mean Stephanie sat in a big pot with who knows what inside of it, just to get the shot! Now that is my kind of bride! But honestly, they are so in love and it literally radiated in every photograph. Check out their preview pics and if you like them please leave us a comment.

Justin is one lucky man because hot diggity Stephanie is gorgeous!

Although Justin is pretty hot himself...

Together I think they are just phenomenal:

And a little edgy:

Stephanie and Justin you guys were a dream to photograph. We had so much fun, and we can't wait until your wedding! Thank you for being such a great couple.

Next up Nancy and Kevin's slideshow, the WPPI convention where I finally met my photography idol, and Stephanie and Justin's slideshow! See you soon!

Kevin & Nancy Sneak Preview!

This weekend, Josh and I were extremely happy to photograh Nancy and Kevin's wedding. Do you ever hear those love stories where two people meet, fall in love, overcome major obstacles, and then finally are reunited in a beautiful fairy tale wedding? That was Kevin and Nancy's wedding. It was a special wedding full of warmth and love.

Here's a sneak preview of their wedding day. I'll be posting up a slideshow this week as well!

Rebecca's Trash The Dress!

This weekend, Josh and I got to photograph a remarkable person. Every once in a while you meet someone that after they leave you, you go "Wow, what a smart, funny, nice, charismatic insert other adjective here....kind of person." I met Rebecca for the first time on Sunday and was absolutely blown away by her. Josh actually booked her wedding last year for June of 08, but I never had the chance to meet her in person. All I can say is that her fiance Tom, is one incredibly lucky man, to be marrying such a beautiful person.

Josh and I photographed Rebecca's Trash the Dress session with a dress from Ebay. I know sometime's it's hard to trash your actual wedding dress, so an Ebay dress is a great option. They're cheap and you don't get withering looks from your mother when you tell them you're going to trash your dress.

All three of us literally trudged for about 3/4s of a mile in Red Rock to this gorgeous creek and grass fields. Let me tell you, Rebecca hiked with the wedding dress on! After that she actually got into the freezing creek water. It must of been about oh....35 degrees. If you notice a slight bluish tinge to her skin, it's because she was that cold!

Rebecca, thank you so much for letting us spend the day with you, and for having that much moxie! You are so right! Those chicks on America's Next Top Model have nothing on you!

First off check out how beautiful Rebecca is:

Rebecca was a great model:

I just love the romance of this photograph:

I know Rebecca mentioned that Tom loves to read. Well, can you guess which Shakespeare heroine Rebecca looks like in this photograph:

No it's not Sleeping Beauty (although uncanny resemblance huh?).

I promised a slideshow to Rebecca. I hope you like it! Thank you again Rebecca, and I can't wait until the wedding!

Website Of The Week

This week I have not one but two cool websites for your viewing pleasure!

The first one is for the brides that need some ideas specifically regarding color schemes. The website is SnippetandInk. Snippet and Ink is a blog that posts these absolutely gorgeous story boards to help build a theme and color scheme for your wedding. What I love about it, is the original themes and colors they collaborate. For example:

Turquoise blue and mandarin orange. I don't think I've ever photographed a wedding with such an original color palette. It's really fresh and pretty.

I love the sheer romance of this board:

And the fun and brightness of this board:

Snippet and Ink is such a great way to find some inspiration, especially when you're stuck in planning.

The second website of the week is also a blog. The author, Ariel Meadow Stallings, wrote an awesome book titled: "Offbeat Bride: Taffeta Free Alternatives For Independent Brides". If you're a bride that's tired of the same ole weddings. If you're looking to make your wedding completely your own, Offbeat Bride is the blog for you. Actually it's a good wedding blog for everybody who's searching for beautiful, original ideas. The best part is Ariel writes about a "offbeat wedding" every once in a while, and it's great to see brides and grooms doing their own thing so to speak.

Two awesome websites this week! I'm also almost done with our honeymoon blog. Best of all Josh and I are going out shooting this week. We're doing a Trash The Dress shoot on Sunday so come back soon to see a slideshow and some preview pics of that!
